Skills Builder
Coleridge Community College are delighted to have been chosen to work with the Skills Builder Partnership as a participant school of the Skills Builder Accelerator in the 2023-24 academic year.
Skill development is a core part of our Coleridge Careers strategy of ADVantaging our students with the Ambition, Direction and Versatile skills to succeed in future education and employment.
We will be developing students’ employability skills in the following areas:
- Listening
- Speaking
- Problem solving
- Creativity
- Staying positive
- Aiming high
- Leadership
- Teamwork
Each skill has a series of Skills Builder level descriptors, so students are constantly developing their skills to higher levels.
Delivery of the Skills Builder Programme will take place through:
- Explicit teaching of skills in tutor time.
- Development and rehearsal of skills in PSHE lessons.
- Deliberate practice of skills in curriculum time.
- Evidencing of skills development through the Unifrog platform.
