Sports and Teams

Extra curricular sports activities available to all students. They take place before and after school, led by the Physical Education staff and a range of qualified coaches. Our strong cross-campus ethos allows many activities to run on the same night and this year we've been able to a wide variety of sports including girls football, badminton, basketball, rugby, hockey, Gaelic football, table tennis, handball and fitness training.

Rugby, football and netball consistently have over 100 students involved in training and playing in local fixtures. Rugby is showing very promising progress with Mr Dixon securing funding for coaches at Coleridge and creating strong links with Cambridge Rugby Club. Hockey has recently been re-introduced by Mrs Champion, attracting over 60 students each week and playing schools in the district competitions.

We aim to develop future elite sportsmen and women that compete proudly representing Coleridge Community College across the Cambridgeshire district, and may even go on to be future world famous athletes. Students will have opportunities to expand their experiences at competitive events, tournament and fixtures at local, regional and county level.

We are proud of our reputation in the District Schools Sports Association, where we have recently shown success in rugby, football, netball, cross-country, indoor rowing, badminton, basketball, cricket, table tennis, golf and athletics.
